Hey guys, I'm Carla, from the Hudson Valley, I saw this site on my forum, 3si.org. I currently own 2 3000gt VR4's and am building one of them . In case any of you are unfamiliar with VR4's, no its not a Volkswagon, thats vr6, lol, its a twin turbo 3.0 V6. Ill post pics later. Mine is a 94 all internally worked and its going to be a beast! I'm setting the goal to be ready by spring/summer of next year! Just wanted to shout out and let everyone know Im here!
Also, if any of you are going to SEMA in Las Vegas in November, I got chosen as an enthusiast along with a select group of others to go so if anyone else is attending we should definitely meet up!

marshallpre went with me to a tuner meet down in Atlantic city that had a caravan starting at north jersey that contained 300+ cars, and had a total of 630+ cars that all the procedes go to breast cancer, it was called streetwars 5, its an amazing show :)

in the one day car show we raised $24,000

and i held my section of the caravan, its an amazing show and its def worth it lol

It's actually not a b20 meet. We use the b20 upstate racing thread as basically a chat forum for all of the kids around here. The person who made the thread is mattylx on here.

Thanks guys. No one has really ever seen it, I bought it in the spring and a month after it spun a bearing, so I decided to go all out since I had to take the motor out anyway, right? ;] So fully built motor plus fully built transmission , plus twin turbos that barely fit in the engine bay= sexyyytimeee hahaha

You will alll see it late spring 2010 .... until then... Ill post pics of the progresss... Just bought the OEM 120k kit and 2 walbro fuel pumps, lifters and Im about to get the beef up plate in the tranny welded on. (I dont have welding skills yet, im learning though) =]

yep, the 6 speed tranny is goign to have a 300m output shaft, and beef up plate welded inside and the t-case is pretty strong, so I may or may not get a tcase bracket, the 5speeds have weaker t-cases.

also you should consider putting some money into beefing up the synchros by using a WPC treatment.

because you don't want to deal with the transmission taking a crap on you.

it's awd so it's gonna take more abuse then a car with fwd or awd.

do it once do it right.

CAMS? ur better off doin new turbos, cams are a bitch to do and tune unless ur using the very expensive aem or haltech ems. i mean u could fox with nitrous but i cant see 500hp on stock turbos, those things are garbage lol, i use mine as very big paper wieghts for the countless reciepts u get from owning a 3Z lol

yea i got a 90'TT, i kno you cannot get 500whp on sock turbos, im having a hard time getting my car to the 500whp mark. the only pheasable way that can happen is if you spray the hell out of it and im sure you'll blow the turbos off before you hit 500

Even if you had ALL of those mods you still wouldn't put down what he put down, Your not factoring in the healthyness of the motor, even stock cars put down different wheel horsepower.

There is such much to factor in (not including a tune) like, elevation from sea level, ambient temperature, air density, how the dyno was calibrated and not for nothing but dynojets put down some of the highest numbers known to man and they figure out HP first, not torque like a real dyno.

I think if you guys reeally want to know how much power can be made from the stock turbos, u should realy look at and learn how to read comp maps and etc. Then u will know for sure.

And also, 470whp @ 21psi on the stock turbos (are they t25's). Will not be 470whp past 1-3 pulls because just knowing from my knowledge of turbos...a t25 is similar in size to or just slightly bigger than a k04, correct? And past 18psi, those blow hot air if pushed more than once or twice at wot due to their efficency being well gone by 20psi.

And that dyno is on different levels of race fuel...except for the 400whp, so I highly suspect most of the gains of the 470whp run won't be met without 20+psi on stock turbo as well as advacing timing quite a bit to maximize the use of the 100octane or c16.

400whp and 500whp is a huge swing in powwer. Stock turbos I would said looking at the dyno and mods on that car....and not having the stock turbo compressor map in front of mefor a street car would be 415-420ish whp without poping the motor due to not running race fuel.

Small turbos blow hot at race boost pressure, increasing knock, and cylinder temps.

Which is why c16 had to be used to make 470whp


But back on topic, lol, this is carlas thread

ko4's can push anywhere from 210whp to around 275whp.on my car i have a smaller size k04 and making about 230whp then up from that i dont know if its all the same but on the audi tt they have a ko4 that can reach the 275whp mark but they usally run about 260whp
so i would think that having 2 of the larger ones from my knowledge could be close

As for progress I have gotten so far, everything is in, almost, lol I just ordered my Billett oil pump gears and my injectors, once they get in my hands everything is being put together, so expect sometime within the next 2 weeks. I expect to have the car officially done by mid to late April, BOOSTWORKS - still need you guys for my exhaust!!! Will contact you when time gets closer, dont think I forgot about you!!
