hey guys! im new here so i figured i would introduce myself. My name is Joe from peekskill. i have a neon with a decent size turbo on it. after finally getting a decent tune in the car i ran into transmision problems( probaly from the WOT shifts:frusty:) i hope to have the car back together by spring so i can show up to a few meets. here are some pics of the car

I remember seeing this car up at DSI. who finished the tune?

I did. after reading the manual it really wasnt that hard to tune. when i had the car up there they were having trouble tuning. only because i had 0 compression in one cylinder. After tearing the motor apart 5 or 6 times i found out that the intake cam was bad. the base circle of the cam was to big, causing the valves to constatly staying open. since crane was out of business, i couldent get replacements or my money back for the cams. i finally got the car back togehter, tuned and i run into trans problems. Now the car sits with no motor or tranny. Im just trying to make up my mind... go auto or get a srt trans with striaght cut gears.

Welcome to the site.
Question, do you work at Camp Smith? and have another neon with deifferent color body panels(thinkin its ur beater)
if so, i think i see u. i work at Shop A. i used to drive my car up there to works sometimes, before they put up all those damned speed bumps, that i can no longer get over.
I have a welded diff 3.55 if your interested. Also have other misc parts too.

yup thats my car... maybe one day i'll finish the paint. i've seen your car many times...very clean car .. have u tried going over the new speed bumps? i dont think there that bad compared to the old one that was at the light.

thanks for the kind words on my ride. the new bumps that they just put there, more like humps.....i havent tried going over those since they repaved it recently. its winter time now, so i try to keep it in my garage as much as possible.
but these new ones are a lot better than the other ones

what kind of power did you put down?
Joe T

Power? no idea really.the turbo thats on the car is a pt67.(capable of some big numbers) . some guy with the same setup made 515 @ 15 psi pump gas( i was on 14psi). just have to wait until spring to find out. i'll post some numbers when i go to the dyno.

515whp on 15 psi? Are you sure about that? Any headwork, cams etc done to it? BTW I have a pte67 turbo too

yup head race ported by all motor mike, box intake, crane 22 cams built 2.4 bottom end etc. here is the dyno sheet for 19psi http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n187/Chris__N/24T_Neon.jpg i cant find the one for 15

Any reason why you didn't already start with a boosted platform? lets say an srt4 motor?

I was going to use an srt motor, trans, harness, basicallly everything from an srt4, but Finding an wrecked srt for under 4 grand was basically impossible. it was cheaper just to build a motor and add a standalone. with the power i want to get out of it, the stock srt bottom end would be at it limits. i kinda regret it now with all the bullcrap i had to deal with.(mostly tuning) I could of had a high 12's car with just bolt ons. hopefully i can get low 10's with my current set up

I was looking at the SRT forums and people are making 515whp at 25+ psi and that's with a built motor too. It just seems the boost is too low to make that much power on a small motor with a med turbo. But it is what it is. Props to you
EDIT: What compression ratio?

8.8:1 head decked .0020. thats not my dyno sheet, just a guy with the same setup. every dyno is different i guess. im not to concerned with numbers, the only reason im even taking it to the dyno is to fine tune the cam gears and tune.

the numbers look right for that kind of boost and size turbo, Don't forget your also looking at a dyno jet graph, they read exceptionally high because they do not factor in as many parameters as some of the other dynos such as weight, wind resistance, load, etc... Numbers are useless anyways unless you have a base line.
